Privacy Policy

Unmiss is made by MainGauge ("we"). This policy covers the Unmiss app, this website, and the waitlist. It is written plainly and is not legal advice.
Using Unmiss on your own
Unmiss needs no account. If you use it by yourself, your reminders, your alarms, and the times you confirm them stay on your device. We never receive them, and there is nothing for us to hold.
If you invite an accountability partner
Sharing a reminder with a partner is the one thing that sends your reminder content off your device. It is opt-in, per reminder, and you can turn it off. While it is on we store:
- A Sign in with Apple identifier, which is how we know two accounts are paired. If you hide your email, we never receive it.
- Your first name only, so your partner sees who they are supporting. Our server rejects anything longer, so a surname or an email address typed into that field is discarded before it is stored.
- The title of each reminder you share, with the time it is due and whether you confirmed it. Your partner sees the title in the notification they receive.
- A notification token for your device, so Apple can deliver that notification.
- A one-way hash of a confirmation secret, so a confirmation can be proven to have come from your device. We do not store the secret itself.
Your partner sees your first name and the titles of reminders you chose to share. They never see your other reminders, your email, your payment details, or anything about your subscription.
If you subscribe to Unmiss Plus
Apple processes the payment. We never see your card, your billing address, or your Apple ID. What your device reports to us is the status of the subscription: when the current period ends, whether it renews monthly or yearly, whether it is set to auto-renew, and, if it stopped, Apple's reason. We use that to know whether to keep sending heads-ups to your partner, and to tell you first if it looks like it lapsed.
The free trial is metered against a one-way hash of your subscription identifier, so the same person cannot restart it repeatedly. That hash cannot be turned back into your identity, and it is deliberately not linked to your account, so it survives deleting your account.
Analytics
In-app analytics are processed by TelemetryDeck and measure how features are used, not who used them. Events are grouped by a one-way keyed digest of your account identifier rather than by anything that names you. That digest is stable, so it can tell one person's sessions apart from another's without identifying either. Website analytics are provided by Cloudflare, count page views and referrers, and use no cookies and no fingerprinting.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist stores your email address, along with the referring page, the browser user agent, and where on the site you signed up. We use the email for one purpose: telling you when Unmiss launches.
Why we collect it
To deliver the accountability feature you asked for, to know whether your subscription is active, and to make the app work better. We do not build advertising profiles.
Where it is stored, and who processes it
Data is stored with Supabase. This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Notifications are delivered by Apple, which also provides Sign in with Apple and processes purchases. In-app analytics are processed by TelemetryDeck. These providers process data on our behalf. If your data is stored on servers outside Canada, for example in the United States, you consent to that transfer by using Unmiss.
How long we keep it
- Shared reminder titles are deleted. Seven days after a shared reminder's grace period ends, the record is reduced to whether it was confirmed and when. The title is not carried over and is not kept.
- Pairing details and your first name are kept while the partnership exists, and removed when either of you unpairs or deletes their account.
- Subscription status is kept while your account exists.
- Waitlist emails are kept until Unmiss launches and you have had the chance to download it, or until you unsubscribe.
We do not sell your data
We have never sold personal data, and we will not.
Your choices
You can stop sharing any reminder at any time, unpair from a partner, or delete your account from inside the app, which removes your profile, your pairings, and your shared reminders. You can unsubscribe from the waitlist using the link in any email. You can ask us to show you, or delete, what we hold by emailing [email protected].
Notifications
Unmiss asks for notification permission when you pair with a partner, because the feature works by sending notifications. You can decline, and you can change it later in iOS Settings.
Consent
By joining the waitlist you give express consent, under Canada's anti-spam law (CASL), to receive the launch email from MainGauge. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Age
Unmiss is not directed to children. Please do not use it, or join the waitlist, if you are under 13.
